Chris Difford - Squeeze Co-Founder and Frontman

We are thrilled to welcome a genuine song-writing legend in the form of Squeeze frontman Chris Difford as part of his Irish tour. As a member of one of London’s best-loved bands, the Squeeze co-founder has made a lasting contribution to English pop music with hits such as Cool For Cats, Up The Junction, Labelled With Love, Hourglass, Tempted, and Pulling Mussels From the Shell.

Chris’s music has been the soundtrack of many fans’ lives since his first release in 1977. Yet the passion for innovation and love of playing still drives him to carry on writing rather than sit back and admire his handiwork.

His 13-album career with Squeeze makes clear that Chris Difford has few peers when it comes to smart, pithy lyricism. Come and enjoy this amazing talent live in our intimate performance space.

  • TICKETS NOT INCLUDED, TICKETS MUST BE BOOKED THROUGH WWW.EVENTBRITE.IE IN ADVANCE

Al Copley is a magnificent soloist, as raunchy or elegant as the situation requires...equally at home with New Orleans rum-boogie to Ellington era ballads. -Jazz Journal

We are delighted to welcome back Al Copley, the blues pianist, singer and co-founder of Roomful of Blues, the renowned American jump band which was twice nominated for a Grammy Award.

Al's solo performances are known for their energy, versatility and enormous sense of fun - don't be surprised to find Al underneath or atop his Steinway piano, while belting out much loved blues, jazz and popular classics.

After 16 years with Roomful of Blues, Al moved to Europe, performing all over the continent. After two decades abroad, he returned to his native USA in 2010, where he has continued to appear regularly, especially in New York City. He still tours to France and Switzerland, and is currently Resident Artist at Le Grand Hotel Bellevue in Gstaad, Switzerland.

In June 2002 and 2009, Al Copley performed four of his own full symphonic orchestrations before an audience of more than 25,000 with the Boston Festival Orchestra at Summer Pops.

He is a regular at the Montreux Jazz Festival where he has performed with Bob Dylan, Eric Clapton, Etta James, BB King, Jimmie Vaughan, Van Morrison, McCoy Tyner and other luminaries.

In 2016, Al initiated a Roomful of Blues reunion recording. The goal, according to co-founder Duke Robillard, was to "make a record equal to or better than our first record." They have succeeded in this! Stay tuned for the release.

Patsy Cline Music & Memories with Sandy Kelly-Sun 25th March,8pm

  • TICKETS NOT INCLUDED, TICKETS MUST BE BOOKED THROUGH WWW.EVENTBRITE.IE IN ADVANCE

    Music & Memories

After a 40 date sell-out theatre tour of the UK, Sandy Kelly tours Ireland in 2018 with her Patsy Cline - Music & Memories show. This wonderfully nostalgic show brings the audience on a trip down memory lane to hear the music and insight into the life of Patsy Cline, one of the greatest singers that ever lived.

It is easy to see why Patsy’s music has been so enduring since her tragic death in a 1963 plane crash at just 30-years-old. Her rich and expressive voice coupled with classic songs like “Crazy”, “Walking After Midnight”, “Sweet Dreams” etc., have insured her recordings are timeless.

2018 will be a very special year for Sandy Kelly who plays the lead role in this concert performance. It marks the 25th anniversary of the first Patsy Cline show that Sandy wrote, produced and starred in. Such was the interest in Sandy’s “Patsy” show that RTE invited her do to a 13-week TV series in 1991. Sandy’s “Patsy Cline Show” was contracted by a major London production company and became the first and only country music show to have an extended run in the London’s prestigious West End which starred Sandy Kelly and Grand Ole Opry legend George Hamilton IV.

Sadly, George Hamilton IV passed away in 2014. After careful consideration Sandy invited one of the new stars of Irish country music, Barry Kirwan, to join her on this tour. Barry, son of Dominic Kirwan has performed extensively in Nashville and pursued his own very successful career. Sandy is looking forward to meeting all her old friends and making new ones too during this truly nostalgic tour to celebrate the Music and Memories of Patsy Cline.
